THOUGHT ABOUT THE ARMY

Jan 17, 2026

Happy new year, crew. We got a blog now biiiitch. Here are the headlines:

AUTUMN '25

Yes, our final edition of 2025 was released to the public on the first day of January. Yes, this means we were technically late. Who cares. You shouldn't.

This is the favorite issue of just about everyone on the team and it's unbelievable to all of us that we managed to make it in such a short timeframe.

As for the van specifically, we bought that hunkajunk in July, before we had even published the Spring edition. It took months and months of insurance payments and tune-up sessions with the gang to get the finished product you saw at the end. The four-minute

NEW MUSIC

You may or may not know about our bandcamp page, where we irregularly publish some of the original songs we make for our videos. Recently, we dropped two new releases over there: first, the official audio for What Do Zombies Drink?, the original song from our Autumn '25 issue.

The moment we came up with the idea to do a music video sketch, Riley instantly suggested: "What if we make a song about what zombies drink. Because they eat brains but like what do they drink."

We all fell over laughing and knew right away that we were making that song. By the next day, Riley had finished a demo version, complete with lyrics and temp vocals. That demo is also available as a B-side on the same release. We used the same instrumental for the real song, but we rewrote the lyrics as a group and recorded the vocals in Alex's garage that same night.

Alongside that, we put out thought about the army, a surprise 25-track mixtape featuring an overwhelming assortment of bullshit songs that made us laugh.

Some of these songs are deliberate and recognizable from our most recent two issues. We used "stitches out", a drowsy lilt featuring a monologue sampled from Fergus & Geronimo, in the bumper preceding Summer's Home & Garden report. There's also the "crap" triptych that pops up briefly in the first half of Autumn's van saga.

But the biggest highlight has to be the hotly-anticipated release of "the streets freestyle", the credits theme from Autumn '25. The story is that Ande wanted to use the UK hip-hop classic "Has It Come To This?" by The Streets but thought it would be better if we had one of us rap shittily over it in a British accent instead. Our homie Owen was the perfect man for the job, and we think you'll agree that he went above and beyond.

The rest of the tracklist is occupied by nonsense of a similar vein.

If you haven't listened, rest assured that this album offers possibly the dumbest 30 minutes you could ever spend. You can discern for yourself whether or not you're prepared for that.

If you missed the news on these, we don't blame ya; we're making the blog specifically to keep you tuned in on small stuff like this. Additionally, feel free to follow the bandcamp to be the very first to know about whatever goop we spill on there.
